Linux Mint 9 – Codename Isadora – hatte bereits Mitte Mai das Licht der Welt erblickt. Nun gibt es auch eine Ausgabe mit dem leichtgewichtigen Fenster-Manager LXDE. Laut Entwickler eignet sich diese Version für ältere Hardware oder langsamere Computer. Die Basis für den Mint-Ableger biete das Ubuntu-Derivat Lubuntu 10.04. Somit befinden sich Linux-Kernel 2.6.32, Openbox 3.4.10, LXSession 0.4.3 und X.org Server 1.7.5 an Bord. Weitere Neuerungen sind ein verbesserter Datei-Manager PCManFM2 und eine Standard-Installation der Multimedia-Software VLC (VideoLan Client).
Ungefähr 30.000 Applikationen befinden sich katalogisiert im neuen Software-Manager. Damit können Anwender vor einer Installation zunächst die Bewertungen anderer Nutzer in Betracht ziehen. Ebenso wurde das Backup-Tool für Daten und Software von Linux Mint eingepflegt. Unterstützung für dieses Betriebssystem gibt es drei Jahre.
