Ab sofort gibt es eine neue Version der auf Gentoo-Linux basierten SystemRescueCd. Version 1.5.6 bringt die neueste GParted-Ausgabe 0.6.0 mit sich. Somit kann das Partitionier-Werkzeug mit Geräten umgehen, die Sektoren größer als 512 Byte einsetzen. Darüber hinaus haben die Entwickler Updates für diverse Netzwerkkarten-Treiber eingepflegt und Probleme mit dem tg3-Treiber (meist Broadcom) beseitigt. Als Standard-Kernel setzen die Macher auf 2.6.32.15. Alternativ können Anwender Kernel 2.6.34 nutzen.
Die xfsprogs sind als 3.1.2 vorhanden. Ebenso wurde nach eigenen Angaben das Installations-Script für USB-Massenspeicher unter Linux verbessert.
