Ausgeträumt: Dreamlinux wird nicht mehr weiterentwickelt

Die aus Brasilien stammende Linux-Distribution Dreamlinux wurde leider eingestellt. Version 1 gab es im Jahr 2006 und die letzte Version ist Dreamlinux 5, die Anfang Januar 2012 ausgegeben wurde. Sie basierte auf Debian Wheezy und setzt Xfce als Desktop-Umgebung ein. Auf der Homepage ist nun zu lesen, dass die Distribution nicht mehr weiterentwickelt wird. Grüde dafür sind nicht zu lesen. Dreamlinux hatte ein recht hübsches Icon Theme, das zum Glück auf der Homepage zum Download (tar.gz) angeboten wird. Dies gilt auch für das Xfce-Theme (tar.gz) und das GTK Main Theme (tar.gz). Somit ließen sich diese Hinterlassenschaften in anderen Distributionen einsetzen.
Das Icon Theme wurde noch aktualisiert und enthält Mimetypes für die meisten Dateitypen, inklusive LibreOffice. Alle Symbole lassen sich außerdem mit Inkscape öffnen.

Dreamlinux 5 enthielt übrigens SoftMaker Office 2008. Das war so mit der Nürnberger Software-Schmiede abgesprochen. Seit wenigen Tagen gibt es übrigens SoftMaker 2012 für Linux.
Tja, schade … eine der besseren Distributionen im großen Dschungel macht sich vom Acker – zumindest hinterlässt man ein brauchbares Erbe …
