Steven Shiau hat eine neue stabile Version von GParted Live zur Verfügung gestellt. Die Debian (Sid vom 21.03.2011) basierte Live-Disrtibution ist in erster Linie als mobiles Partitionier-Werkzeug gedacht. Das Betriebssystem bringt allerdings noch einige Tools zur Datenrettung mit sich. Dazu gehören TestDisk, PhotoRec und Partimage. Ebenfalls mit an Bord ist der Dateimanager Midnight Commander. Dem Linux-Kernel wurde ein Update auf Version 2.6.38 spendiert. Neu hinzugekommen ist OpenSSH. Der SSH-Dienst wird per Standard allerdings nicht gestartet. Wer SSH benutzen möchte sollte das Passwort ändern und die Datei /etc/hosts.deny vor einem Start anpassen.
Die Entwickler haben des Weiteren einen Workaround eingepflegt, um setxkbmap problemlos arbeiten zu lassen. Sie finden weitere Informationen im Changelog und den Release-Notizen. Das ISO-Abbild gibt es bei Sourceforge.net: gparted-live-0.8.0-5.iso (124 MByte)
