FFmpeg 0.6 mit verbesserter H.264- und VP8-Unterstützung

Zirka 15 Monate nach der Veröffentlichung von FFmpeg 0.5 haben die Entwickler eine neue Ausgabe zur Verfügung gestellt. Version 0.6 bringt Unterstützung für Googles VP8-Codec / WebM und Verbesserungen für HTML5/H.264-Video. VP8 wird durch den Einsatz der libvpx-Bibliothek voll unterstützt. Laut Aussage der Entwickler soll das Dekodieren von Theora und H.264 nun wesentlich schneller funktionieren. Ebenso gibt es ein neuen ffprobe-Werkzeug. Damit lassen sich Vorbis-Kommentare für FLAC-, Ogg-FLAC- und Ogg-Speex-Dateien schreiben. Für ARM wurden ebenfalls diverse Optimierungen eingepflegt.
