Das Interessanteste an der Neuigkeit ist eigentlich, ob man sie als Armutszeugnis sehen kann. Die Entwickler haben es nicht geschafft oder hatten keine Lust, Terraria auf Linux zu portieren. Die Community ist eingesprungen und hat gezeigt, wie es gehen könnte. In diesem Thread ist zu lesen, dass ein Port für das Spiel entwickelt wurde. Du brauchst allerdings einie installierte Version des Spiels, um an die Original-Ordner zu kommen. Die Community hat also einen Wrapper für das Spiel erstellt. Wie man die Sache mittels Wine und Mono ans Laufen bekommt, findest Du ebenfalls in dem angepsrochenen Foren-Thread.
In einer Antwort auf den Thread stellt ein weiterer Entwickler eine verbesserte Version zur Verfügung. Dort funktioniert auch das Mausrad und es gibt einige andere Verbesserungen. Er erhofft sich außerdem, dass die Entwickler diesen Linux-Port ernst nehmen und sich das Ganze mal zu Gemüte führen. Terraria ist eine Mischung aus RPG, Action, Platformer … irgendwo in der Richtung 2D-Minecraft.
