Mit der Veröffentlichung von Adobe Creative Suite 5 hat Adobes CEO Shantanu Narayen gegenüber Fox Business News verlauten lassen, dass Flash für mobile Geräte wie Googles Android in der zweiten Hälfte 2010 erscheinen wird. Viele Android- und WebOS-Anwender lechzen schon eine Zeit lang nach Flash-Unterstützung auf ihren Geräten. Dies gilt auch für BlackBerry-Geräte, wie Narayen am Ende des Interviews sagte. Man darf davon ausgehen, dass mit der zweiten Hälfte des Jahres nicht der 1. Juli 2010 gemeint ist.
Adobe befindet sich derzeit im Krieg mit Apple. Steve Jobs evangelisiert, dass man Flash nicht länger verwenden solle. Apples größte Konkurrenz bei mobilen Geräten scheint derzeit Googles Open-Source-Software Android zu sein. Zumindest so lange, bis Microsoft die Windows-Phone-7-Serie auf den Markt bringt. Eines ist sicher: Je länger sich Adobe zeit lässt, Android, WebOS und Konsorten mit einem funktionierenden Flash-Player zu versorgen, desto lauter kann Apple lachen.
