Russlands “graue Eminenz” Vladimir Putin hat offenbar einen Plan unterzeichnet. Dieser besagt, dass Gelder für die Förderung freier Software in Regierungseinrichtungen bereitgestellt werden. Die Einführung von Linux soll im zweiten Quartal 2012 beginnen. Das Dokument mit dem Zeitplan finden Sie hier (in russisch) – mit Google Translation übersetzt. Bis 2015 soll das Projekt abgeschlossen sein.
Nun hat es in der Vergangenheit schon mehrere Versuche in dieser Richtung, vor allen Dingen im Bildungssektor gegeben. Diese sind aber alle irgendwie gescheitert. Da das Dokument aber nun Putins Unterschrift trägt, könnten sich einige Leute ganz schnell sputen, das auch umzusetzen. Man weiß ja wie es enden kann, wenn man sich nicht an Putins Regeln hält …
