Wegen anhaltender Probleme mit dem Installer wurde Fedora 18 Beta nun weitere 2 Wochen nach hinten verschoben, wie es in der Mailing-Liste zu lesen ist. In erster Linie möchte man den Teams Installer, neues Upgrade Tool und Secure Boot mehr Zeit geben, um mit diesen Komponenten fertig zu werden. Ob diese Zeit reicht ist ungewiss. Erst kürzlich kam eine Diskussion auf, dass Anaconda Monate von einem vernünftigen Status entfernt ist.
Somit soll Fedora 18 Beta nun am 27. November 2012 ausgegeben werden. Das letzte Datum, an dem noch Änderungen eingereicht werden dürfen ist nun der 18. Dezember. Eine finale Ausgabe soll nun am 8. Januar 2013 erscheinen. Als logische Konsequenz wurde das für den heutigen 8. November angesetzt Go/No-Go-Meeting abgesagt.
