Hacker findet Bootrom-Schwachstelle – könnte Jailbreak in allen Geräten ermöglichen. iOS 4.1 schützt nicht!

Die gestrige Herausgabe von iOS 4.1 waren gute Nachrichten für iPhone-Besitzer, die Geschwindigkeits-Probleme hatten. Allerdings schlechte Neuigkeiten für Jailbreaker. Das Dev Team selbst warnte vor einem Upgrade auf 4.1, weil ein Rückschritt unmöglich ist. Somit begann das Katz-und-Maus-Spiel von Neuem und hat anscheinend gerade mal einen Tag gedauert. iPhone-Hacker pod2g hat auf Twitter veröffentlicht, dass er einen Schwachstelle im neuen Bootrom gefunden hat. Das beste daran sei, dass jegliche, mit iOS betriebene Hardware, anfällig ist. Das gilt auch für das iPhone 4 und die neuen iPod Touch.
Doch es kommt noch dicker für Apple und besser für Jailbreaker. Es handelt sich hier um eine Schwachstelle in der Hardware. Somit lässt sich diese nicht mit einem Software-Update aus der Welt schaffen. Apple wird die Hardware sicherlich in kurzer Zeit ändern und einen Ausbruch verhindern. Wer also Jailbreak auf einem iPhone oder einen iPod nutzen will, sollte wahrscheinlich jetzt zuschlagen. Das Dev Team wird sicherlich bald eine Jailbreak-Strategie für die Bootrom-Lücke entwickeln.
