Den Webauftritt der quelloffenen Webanalyse-Software Piwik ist nun auch in deutscher Sprache verfügbar. Der Inhalt, die Dokumentation, die FAQs und so weiter wurde von dem deutschen Web-Entwickler Peter Boehlke übersetzt, der vor kurzer Zeit dem Piwik-Team beigetreten ist. Piwik habe die größte örtliche Community, daher sei die Übersetzung nur eine logische Konsequenz. Es werden noch Schreiber für den deutschen Piwik-Blog gesucht. Man hoffe, dass aus dem Blog eine gute Wissensquelle für deutschsprachige Anwender entsteht.
Piwik steht unter der GPL und wird mit dem Ziel entwickelt, eine Alternative zu Google Analytics zu sein. Sie funktioniert mit PHP und MySQL. Die kostenlose Software ist derzeit in 36 Sprachen übersetzt. Sie können Piwik direkt von der Webseite herunterladen.
