Nativer Linux-Client für Unreal Tournament 3 ist wohl endgültig vom Tisch

Bereits im Mai 2010 sickerte durch, dass Unreal Tournament 3 für Linux wahrscheinlich nie erscheinen wird. Der First Person Shooter wurde schon im Jahre 2007 veröffentlicht und sollte eigentlich einen Client für Linux bekommen. Ryan “Icculus” Gordon war mit der Portierung beauftragt. Noch im vergangenen Jahr arbeitete er an UT3 für Linux, allerdings wurde es nie veröffentlicht.
Nun hat sich laut phoronix der Vizepräsident von Epic Games und Erschaffer der Unreal Engine Mark Rein geäußert. “Es tut mir leid, aber ich glaube das wird nicht mehr passieren”. Somit ist dies wohl nun das endgültige aus für den UT3-Linux-Client.
