Die Debian-Entwickler haben ein sechstes Update für Debian 6.0 – Codename Squeeze – zur Verfügung gestellt. In erster Linie befinden sich Sicherheits-Updates in den neu ausgegebenen ISO-Abbildern. Laut eigenen Angaben habe man auch an einigen Schrauben gedreht, um größere Probleme aus der Welt zu schaffen. Sicherheits-Anweisungen zu Schwachstellen haben die Entwickler separat ausgegeben.
Wenn Du Debian 6.0 bereits am Laufen hast und regelmäßig Updates einspielst, brauchst Du nicht neu zu installieren. Es ist auch nicht notwendig, die alten (6.0) Debian-Installations-Medien in die Mülltonne zu treten. Von diesen kann man immer noch installieren und das System über Online-Updates auf den neuesten Stand bringen.
