Wikipedia ist seit heute ein Teenager. Trotzdem ist die freie Enzyklopädie schon lange aus der Pubertät. Am 15 januar 2001 veröffentlichte Jimmy Wales eine Erfolgsgeschichte, die seinesgleichen sucht. Kräftig gefeiert soll übrigens auch werden. Hier ist eine Liste mit Party-Veranstaltungen. Am meisten freuen sich die Inder, die gleich 95 Feiern anberaumt haben. In Deutschland gibt es zwölf Parties. In der Antarktik feiert niemand. Zum Glück fällt der Geburtstag auf ein Wochenende. So kann man am Sonntag wenigstens ausschlafen. Ob das vor zehn jahren so geplant war?
Allerdings ist Wikipedia nun in Gefahr. Ich hab gesehen,d ass die Öffentlich-Rechtlichen darüber berichtet haben. Wenn die es erst mal in den Nachrichten haben, ist der Hype normalerweise wieder vorbei und das Projekt stark auf dem absteigenden Ast. Hoffentlich werden wir dieses Mal eines Besseren belehrt. 🙂
