NVIDIA hat einen mit Version 260.19.36 einen neuen proprietären Treiber für Linux zur Verfügung gestellt. Dieser bringt nur drei offizielle Veränderungen mit sich. Das neue Kernel-Modul stellt sicher, dass jeglicher reservierter Speicher für die GPU oder den User-Space-Treiber mit Null initialisiert wird. Wer dieses Verhalten nicht möchte, kann dies mittels InitializeSystemMemoryAllocations rückgängig machen. Darüber haben die Entwickler zwei Fehler im Zusammenhang mit dem X-Server ausgebessert. NVIDIA 270.18 Beta bringt einleitende Unterstützung für X.org Server 1.10 und eine Neuordnung des NVIDIA-/proc-Dateisystems mit sich. Ebenso wird dem System eine neue Bibliothek mit namen libnvidia-ml.so hinzugefügt. Darüber hinaus gibt die neue Option 3DVisionDisplayType für die X-Konfiguration. Die Entwickler haben diverse Fehler ausgebessert, die unter anderem mit den Ubuntu GNOME Themes unangenehm auffielen. Interessierte können können den Beta-Treiber für x86 und x86_64 herunterladen.
