Die Katze kauft bekanntlich keiner im Sack. Man will ja schließlich wissen, auf was man sich einlässt. Das Software-Center in Ubuntu 11.04 Natty Narwhal bietet eine ziemlich schicke Neuerung. Dazu müssen Sie aber zunächst das Paket qtnx via Software-Center installieren und die Paketverwaltung danach neu starten. Nun bekommen Sie unter dem Bild der ausgewählten Applikation die Möglichkeit, diese auszuprobieren. Dazu benutzt das Betriebssystem eine Terminal-Server-Technologie. Ob sich damit alle Anwendungen testen lassen, konnte ich natürlich nicht überprüfen. Aber mit Chromium und Abiword funktioniert es.
Also ich finde diese Neuerung ja richtig genial. Wenn es denn zukünftig in der Praxis funktioniert ist das meiner Meinung nach ein geniales Feature von Ubuntu. Was die Applikationen betrifft, habe ich gelesen, dass am Anfang noch nicht alles funktionieren wird, aber nach und nach alles "nachgereicht" wird.

Die Idee gefällt mir auch gut. Beim Rumspielen ist es mir zwar schon mal abgestürzt, aber das darf eine Beta-Version schließlich 🙂
