Eine öffentliche Beta-Version von VirtualBox 3.2 gab es vor zirka zwei Wochen. Nun hat Oracle die finale Version der Virtualisierungs-Software zur Verfügung gestellt. Die neueste Ausgabe weist einige Neuerungen und Verbesserungen auf. Sie unterstützt zum Beispiel Mac-OS-X-Gäste auf Apple-Hardware, CPU-Hot-Plugging für Windows– und Linux-Gäste und Beschleunigung für RDP-Video. Ebenso lassen sich Gast-Systeme mit mehr als nur einem Monitor betreiben und Gäste-Anwendungen lassen sich vom Host-System ausführen.

Oracle erwarb VirtualBox mit dem Kauf von Sun Microsystems. Version 3.2 ist auch die Version des Re-Branding. Die Software heißt nun offiziell Oracle VM VirtualBox.
